Sangrur: Shiromani Akali Dal has fielded the MLA Parminder Singh Dhindsa from Sangrur constituency for Lok Sabha elections. But there are rumors that Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa father of Parminder Singh Dhindsa while wishing good luck, has refuses to campaigning for his son because of health and does not want his son to contest in the polls.
Dhindsa said, “Parminder has decided to contest for the polls after some thoughts, where as I oppose it. But being father my best wishes and blessing always with him. Parminder has served five times MLA and 10 years minister of Punjab. He has enough political experience to take his own decision.
He also said,” I fell twice recently due to cervical problems and my left arm also does not work. Everyone knows that I have been down with health problems. People should not waste much time drawing their own interpretations”. Former Union Minister Dhindsa has stated that some press reported misquoted he had some differences with his son.
“I’d advised my son against contesting the election because of various political and financial reasons. Some newspapers misquoted me to say there were differences in the family. Parminder has always taken my advice seriously, and I respect his feelings,” Sr. Dhindsa said.
Dhindsa has resigned from all the position he had with Akali dal and cited his health for leaving party. But, according the media reports Dhindsa has issues with current party leader Sukhbir Singh Badal.
Parminder Singh Dhindsa will contest against AAP’s Bhagwant Maan and Punjab Democratic Allaince’s Jassi Jasraj from Sangrur.
